MOUNJARO® 12.5mg KwikPen® is a multi-dose injection pen delivering 12.5 mg tirzepatide per 0.6 mL subcutaneous dose once weekly. Each pen contains 50 mg tirzepatide in 2.4 mL (approx. 20.8 mg/mL) and provides 4 weekly administrations. It acts as a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, targeting both glucose regulation and weight control. The solution appears clear and nearly colorless to light yellow, suitable for injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

  • Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to tirzepatide or excipients

  • Cautions: History of pancreatitis, severe GI issues, or advanced diabetic retinopathy

  • Pregnancy: Avoid use; discontinue ≥1 month prior to conception

  • Side effects (common): Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, constipation

Yes—most commonly gastrointestinal events and injection-site reactions. Side effects are often transient and dose-related.

  • GI effects: Very frequent, esp. during titration (nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting)

  • Discontinuations: Up to 6% stopped due to GI issues in higher doses

  • Hypoglycaemia: Risk higher when combined with sulphonylurea/insulin

  • Injection-site: Redness/itching reported in up to 8%

  • Gallbladder events: Up to 2%

  • Rare: Pancreatitis, hypersensitivity

Storage must follow refrigeration and disposal guidelines. Once opened, pens should not exceed their shelf-life.

  • Unused pens: Refrigerate at 2–8°C; never freeze

  • After first use: May store at ≤30°C, discard after 30 days
